Violin Description: Violin for sale - Gianna Appalachian Folk Violin
There are no pictures available for this violin
A dark and lyrical folk violin with a slightly mournful undertone. Inspired by the good trade violins from France and Germany that spread throughout the south during the late 19th century, the Appalachian captures the spirit of the Southern Appalachians. Smooth as a polished stream boulder, sweet as honeysuckle, responsive as a good hotrod, and smooth as fine charcoal-filtered corn liquor, the Appalachian fiddles have a clear, woody, mellow, lyrical tone that longs to echo in a mountain church or rise above a dancing riffle high in the Smokies. Each is a unique heirloom with voicing bearing a fine, thin antiqued finish and vintage-look fittings. Each bears a unique, hand-lettered name inside. While this is our most popular model for Irish, Celtic, and folk fiddlers we find that the clear, smooth tone appeals greatly to violinists tired of intense, loud, penetrating brilliance and preferring sweetness. But theres no shortage of presence, projection, and volume when needed. $1899. Our most popular model capturing the feel and look of a fine vintage fiddle
Gianna lets each violin guide her in developing a dark-toned antiqued finish
High-quality synthetic strings (Corelli perlon or equivalent)
European bridge cut in our variation of the Chicago style
 Ebony vintage-style fittings
Currently available: "Roaring Fork & "Fern", fine Stradivari pattern fiddles with a sweet and rich tone, earthy full low end, singing treble a simply wonderful folk fiddle look, feel and sound.
We always have several Appalachians in stock or in progress; inquire.
