Superb looking instrument labelled internally F.X.Drozen/Vytvoril L.P.1971/V Turnove. Writing in Czech gives dates 1924 and 1927 across label. Broad design: Rubens would have praised it: round hips and broad shoulders. Two-piece, very attractive, back with flame descending from centre joint; ribs and head of similar wood. Solid built. The violin has a table of straight fine grain and the varnish is of a golden brown colour. Length of back 360mm. Very charming treble and good bass. Sounds much better than most expect. 100% overall condition.
