CLICK THE LINK PROVIDED BELOW FOR THE RECORDING.
As Mentioned in the headings, I recorded this violin among 9 others in a 90 minute studio session. What you get is a raw idea of each instrument (check my account for the other 5 vlns available). With this time frame schedule- it was a challenge to warm up and tune each violin and then perform difficult music. SO BE FORGIVING! I did my best to get these recordings for you.
Please read the descriptions carefully- they are accurate, and are my own words, terms, and expressions as a professional violinist.
The Alfio Barbieri 1954 has been evaluated periodically and these have been filed by me into a booklet compiled containing the violins Certificate/Papers. This will be turned over with the instrument to the new owner.
If you have any questions send me an e-mail. I am a serious eBay user and value myself as part of the eBay community.
VIOLIN DETAILS:
Barbieri, Alfio 1954 is a very rare instrument in both appearance and personality. Visually stunning and mild in tone, the violin has a magical soul. Spending time with the instrument you realize this violin has a rare soft heart- heard and heard clearly, and never ever in an argumentive way. My feeling is that the violin sincerely does not like confrontation. That being said, the instrument accomplishes greatness and genuinely succeeds and triumphs on stage and in the studio over many excellent professional violins. I love and admire the violin.
The condition and preservation of the instrument is excellent. The varnish is superb, vividly translucent, and immensely original. Compared to instruments of the professional stage, the violin stands out positively. Wear on the violin has only improved its' outstanding qualities both aesthetically and tonally- and yes, in case you are wondering- the varnish is in original condition. The violin is clean inside and out- no cracks, no crack repairs. The Fittings and Bridge have been replaced.
Inside, Maker's Label:
ALFIO DE BARBIERI- GENOVA
FILIUS di PAULO, FECE nell'anno 1954 (54 handwritten).
The violin is signed.
Italian violins of this era are some of the best around. The Barbieri 1943 is a beautifully clever and brilliant violin confirming the well-known observation.
The violin exudes perfect aesthetics- very fascinating to the naked eye, different, but completely acceptable a great example of Modern Italian genius. The violin will be shipped in a Gewa Case.
Footnote Feedback: This is from a serious violinist in England who contacted me and purchased a violin from the collection last year. His correspondence later included these words (with his permission), "My violin arrived safely. I like it very much. Many thanks. You're right, it is a fabulous fiddle. I have spent the last hour playing on it. Compares favorably with the CARLO TONONI I had until recently. Warmest Wishes."
