Exceptional concert violin by Riviere & Hawkes, registered in 1889, 28 Leicester Square, London. Owned since 1986 as is in excellent condition with beautiful sound. The top is carved from two pieces of spruce with a medium grain. The back is of two pieces of maple with a medium flame descending from the center joint. The ribs and scroll are of maple and match the back. The varnish is light brown orange in color. The instrument was purchased from Claire Givens Violins, Inc. Minneapolis, MN and appraised it for $7000 in 2004. Can email/send as many photos as needed.
