Musical Instrument Description: Violin for sale - Baroque violin, original
A very rare and original violin, set up in original baroque format,by James Banks 1824, in Whiston. This is a very rare maker, and this violin is delightful in every regard- scroll very characteristic, condition overall very good, with some minor restorations-( its is nearly 200 years old!). An ideal opportunity to play baroque or transitional violin, with a real original instrument, which as as 'authentic' as its possible to get- at a fraction of the price of a new reproduction. Original neck and scroll, unpurfled, but with typical English border, i.e. inked stamped decoration, a la Lockey Hill, photos to follow soon-set up with strings of your choice. NOTE: This violin has somehow founds its way onto a Swedish or Dutch site, advertised at an incorrect price- the real asking price is 2800 sterling.(update 14/3/2011)
