A fine full size Scottish violin made partly by Paul F Morran S.M.A. Glasgow 1972 and completed by Neil Baird Violin Maker and Restorer 2001 and so labelled. The back, ribs, neck and head were made by the former and the top, purfling and varnishing were completed by the latter. Neil Baird is one of Scotland's most accomplished makers having worked for Beares of London. He has a violin shop in Glasgow. His work is held in high esteem and his violins normally sell for �3,500. 14 1/8" one piece back of broad curly maple with two piece fine grain pine top. Warm light brown spirit varnish on an amber background. This violin is in pristine condition and comes with our guarantee of authenticity. A number of players and teachers have commented on the excellent tonal qualities of the violin-even across the strings with very good projection, harmonics easily obtained.
