Violin, built year 1985 of
Gegigenbaumeister Wilhelm Br�ckner, Erfurt. Br�ckner was born 1932-09-30. Educated from 1947-1950 by Willy D�lling, Markneukirchen, in 1951-1959 by Willi Lind�rfer in Weimar. He concluded his master examine in 1956 and took over his father�s violin atelj� 1960. He makes very exact copies of Stradivarius and Guarneri. The beautiful wood he uses comes from old stocks collected by his family. Up to 1984, he has constructed 73 violins, 39 violas and 2 celli.
Br�ckner has been a contestant in many contests in Posen, Cremona and Kassel. In 1972 and 1981 he won several gold medals in Posen for his violins. He won 2nd and 7th place in Kassel 1983 with his altviolin.
The instrument has since 1988 - 2002 been with a private collector and therefore hasn�t used as much as to be expected. The instrument has all of the qualities which by definition define a Br�ckner instrument: Good after tone, great clarity of tone and softness, these of course are qualities that are essential for good tone quality.
