Tuba Location: Springfield, MO, USA
Tuba Description: Tuba for sale - J.W. York EEb Tuba
York "monster" EEb tuba, four front action piston valves (complete valve job Summer 2007), beautiful satin silver finish with gold wash inner bell (19.5"), Conn valve cluster modernized by Bob Rusk, large shank receiver. This tuba has the characteristic York tuba sound, unmatched in the most expensive modern instruments.
The main body and bell of the horn is York and is around 90-100 years old. The valve cluster Bob added is Conn and is a four valve set from the 1940's. The compression is great. The plating is around 85-90% with most of the issues on the valve tubing. The bottom bow plate has several cracks but I don't believe there are any leaks. The low register is nice and full, not stuffy like many horns. The first and second slides are easily accessible and move freely.
Please contact me with email address for pics or more info. Thanks!
