Violin - Guarneri Cannon 1743 (Originally known as 1742)
New Instrument
The back is made from very old one European piece maple with a narrow flame.
The belly is made from two piece very fine grained Swiss pine.
This violin has an excellent depth of transparency reflecting a pyramid effect with golden undertones.
The chin rest is handmade from maple with a contrasting medium brown tint.
A hand carved modified Fleur-de-Lys is featured on the lower underside of the peg box.
A dark golden brown oil varnish with a whisper of red.
The upper nut has been made from white bone and polished.
Beautifully made and in a class of its own, this violin is exceptionally responsive with a superb tone that is even, rich and penetrating throughout its range.
