Musical Instrument Description: Trumpet for sale - '52 F.E. Olds & Son Studio
This is an 1952-3 era F.E. Olds & Son Studio model trumpet, with serial number: 87289 (low). This is a gorgeous vintage horn, very well taken care of. This horn was made just before F.E. Olds & Son moved from LA to Fullerton and produced less desirable horns. The Studio Model horn is a professional horn just below the Super, which was the first to have the offset 2nd valve. I have owned this horn for 6 years now and it plays beautifully.
CONDITION: It's a vintage, so the lacquer has either been stripped off or has worn away completely. There are a few minor dings; one around the bell-crook and one around the lead tunning slide, and a few more on the bell, but all are MINOR and have no effect on the playing - again, it's over 50 years old and in excellent condition. I've had the horn sonic-cleaned (ultrasound) and the valves replated.
Along with the horn, I'll throw in Yamaha 17C4-GP (gold plated - $85) mouthpiece and an assorment of mutes, including a harmon bubble. The cases included are a black, solid wood case with crushed red velour inside and a high quality, light-weight gig bag.
*Pictures: finally put some up. I tried to picture the make and serial for proof, but my camera res. is horrible (cell phone)
