Trombone Description: Trombone for sale - 1927 Conn 40H "Ballroom" Tuning in slide! Awesome!
This a hip old horn, but I don't play it as much as I want to. (0.500) Bore, silver with a gold wash bell. Tuning in the slide makes for a smooth 1 piece bell section. This horn has a surprisingly big sound. Engraving on the bell is still beautiful, one small dent at the beginning of the bell flare and none on the bow, which is rare in itself for an 80 year old horn and even more rare for one with a single piece bow. There is one dent in the bell flare about 1/2" long but doesn't effect the way it plays. This horn has never been repaired from what I can see. The water key on the slide is original with the serial number still engraved on the side. The bell section and slide section have
all matching serial numbers as well. There is wear on the hand slide from normal use but this should be expected. The tuning mechanism works flawlessly.
The inner slide is nickel plated and shows some wear on the ends. The slide moves well. The action is not as fast a normal slide because of the weight of the tuning mechanism, but still sounds good all the same.
Come with ORIGINAL case in really good shape, two period mouthpieces and some other little original goodies. Shipping will be at cost.
I have plenty of pictures upon request!
Cheer!
