For sale is an absolutely stunning H.N. White Cleveland, King Super 20 Alto, serial number 379,xxx, from the prime run of the renowned King Super 20 production . This is the horn that Cannonball Adderley, Charlie parker, and many others trusted as their voice. This horn is all original except for the pads and resos. there are no dents and no solders. A REAL museum piece with 100% original lacquer in tact, original grey alligator skin case in mint condition with art deco handle, solid sterling silver double socket neck in excellent condition. You will never see another one like it on the internet or anywhere else. The horn looks and feels literally NEW in your hands. The engraving on the bell and key cups is deep and perfect. The horn has been completely overhauled by David Saull, one of the top techs in the country, and let me tell you this thing KILLS. Blow it for five seconds and you know you have a power alto on your hands with the sweetest of vintage tones. Only about twenty hours of playing time on the overhaul that includes noyak brass resonators, and an ideal King setup with light spring tension and a superfast, fluid feel. This horn plays even better than it looks. It's an absolute race car. Lightning action and HUGE warm King sound. It's a collector's piece but it is a players horn all the way. EXTREMELY POWERFUL ,Strong, Rich tone that can take as much as you can throw at it without ever giving way. Excellent intonation and power to burn. Altissimo is scary good as well. This horn SCREAMS!!. Or plays at a whisper. It can do whatever you ask of it. THE quintessential lead alto. A first class horn that I would put up against any alto on the planet as a player, and except for a few faint surface scratches on the body and some very slight wear on the neck, it looks like it came off the assembly line yesterday. A rare opportunity to own and play what is essentially a new King Super 20 from 1962, perfectly preserved and playing up a STORM. Once in a lifetime horn for the discriminating player or collector, in top professional gig ready playing condition. Feel free to email or call with any questions. 252-256-1639.
