Description: Oboe - Oboe Fullest Conservatory Malerne
R. Malerne (Paris) FULL Conservatory system grenadilla oboe circa 1965 (?), with left F, articulated B-C#, F resonance, split ring D. Excellent condition, just overhauled, all new cork pads to low C. Keywork is beautifully made and ergonomically comfortable. Would be best for small to medium size hands. Plays very well, no anomalies, good tone , projection and response throughout. Silver plate is 100% intact, bright and shiny. Silver banded just above first octave vent and a top phineal- does not detract from the overall appearance. New French style case.
Feels and plays like a cross between and A. Barre' and a Strasser (SML). Malerne supplied A. Laubin with semi-finished instruments when he worked out of the Penzel-Mueller factory. EXCELLENT oboe ! Would suit from beginner to post college. My hobby is finding instruments of merit and matching the wants and desires of the musician to a specific instrument (other oboes and occasionally an English horn available from my collection). MANY references.
Thanks for looking.
With best wishes,
Peter
