Description: Microphone - Neumann M49c
Vintage Neumann M49c (Nr 3240), along with all the necessary extras - power supply, cables, yoke mount, wooden case for mic and 120-240V step up transformer. Quite simply this microphone sounds like music - it was my only vintage mic (I had a bunch of Soundelux) and always had assumed that the vintge mic hype was just that - hype. That was until I demo'd this from Marquette Audio Labs - half way through the first take I called him to let him know I'd be buying it. It is in excellent cosmetic and working condition - you can see there is very little tarnish or pitting on the mic, and the sound will simply blow you away. As long as it has been in my posession it has been used very sparingly in non smoking environments. Although it has many uses, vocals are clearly one area where this mic shines - for both male and female. There is a musical quality and smoothess to this mic that simply cannot be matched by a new microphone. David Marquette of Marquette Audio Labs claims that this was the best M49 of all that he had heard, which was why it was a part of his personal collection for many years. I have now decided to leave the industry, and need to free up capital for other ventures, and so I am reluctantly selling this classic.
