Description: Mandolin - NYBERG Mandolin, after Lyon and Healy. NEW! Beautiful!
Built as an exhibition and display instrument and for archiving, this mandolin has received rave reports from trade shows and aficionados.
This particular mandolin has a very refined and plucky tone that I like. Not as steely as f styles, but just as bold. The woods used are more uncommon for carved-top mandos which makes this a more unique and rare unit. The englemann adds more warmth than the usual sitka spruce and spices it up with some vibrancy.
The one piece bridge (as opposed to the two piece usual style) also creates a richer voicing and timbre and more unrestricted vibrational access to the sound box..
I based the body and neck juncture on Lyon and healy's exact measurements. Currently, as per my own preference, there is no pickguard. But one could be added. The cocobolo adds a beautiful auburn richness against the 'trippy' figure of the quilted maple.
