This is a 2003 Gibson VARNISHED Fern. The varnish Fern is a limited production item, they aren't even listed as a regularly available item.This mandolin is loud and is one of the best sounding bluegrass mandolins I have ever heard.
It has a radiused fingerboard (done by the factory), and comes with the original hard rectangle-shaped TKL case.
List price on a new varnished Fern is $14,000. Better get this one before I come to my senses!
