Description: Lute - 8-Course Lute by David Rubio, 1978
There are no pictures available for this lute
This 8-course lute was made for Frederic Hand by David Rubio in 1978. It has a German spruce top and Curly (Flaming) maple body. It was used on the Waverly Consort's "Elizabethan" album for Sony, Jessye Norman's "Christmas Album" and also on stage at the Metropolitan Opera, accompanying Placido Domingo.
It has been played in hundreds of concerts throughout North and South America and Europe by Frederic Hand and is in great condition. No cracks or structural damage, almost pristine. It was built after the time Rubio was making lutes for Julian Bream and it's lighter construction makes it ideal for players seeking a more authentic design.
Hard shell case included. MP3s and additional photos available upon request.
