Description: French Horn - 1968 Reynolds Contempora FE-03
Reynolds Contempora Double French horn, model FE-03 was manufactured in Abilene TX. in 1968. Horn is lacquered brass,( gold brass) NO DENTS, in great shape, showing a little lacquer wear. The valves are nice and tight, with no leaks. I purchased this horn in March of this year from Houghton Horns. This under-appreciated horn is excellent for advanced students and professionals. This horn has had silver dimes attached to the valve triggers (a common practice) for someone with small hands. They can be removed easily. I am only asking $1500.00 for this vintage high quality horn.
"The Contempora Double French horns from Reynolds were very fine instruments in their day and highly rated along with well-known horns from Conn and Holton. To the ears of many,Reynolds Contempora horns play as well as the best custom horns being produced today. The Contempora FE-03 is a contemporary of the Conn 6D and the Holton H180. The Reynolds Double French Horn is a most sensitively responding instrument and has an unusually easy-speaking upper register - so important to Horn players. Its wondrous tone quality, complete even range and sureness is noteworthy."
