Double Bass Bow for sale - HR Pfretzschner French bass bow

This is a H.R. Pfretzschner French model contrabass bow, silver mounted, tinsel wrapped.

I am not a bass player myself, I got it at the closing auction of a prominent local violinmaker's shop.
I am selling it because my kids play other string instruments and do not intend to take up the bass.
I could consider trading it for an equally excellent violin bow, or a cello...

I have shown it to a good bowmaker (will give the name); he says it is authentic.

I don't have any idea how old it is, when and how long Pfretzschner has used this kind of tinsel wrap.
I did contact the Pfretzschner workshop in Germany many times through email and over the phone but got no answer.

The stick is stamped HR Pfretzschner, the frog has the stamp of the coat of arms of the King of Prussia.

The condition is very good, no nicks or dents, stick is straight and good, good balance, good spring, easy to play and gives good sound, even in unaccustomed hands.
All in all, an almost magic wand... :-)
