Description: Cornet (Eb and Bb) - Bach Strad 184ML Cornet
There are no pictures available for this cornet (eb and bb)
I bought this Bach Strad Model 184ML Cornet from WWBW in 1991. It is s/n 350047 and is a shepherd's crook style cornet. with 1st valve trigger. This horn has a nice burnished sound which is wholly appropriate for British Brass band playing in particular. In fact, I bought it for that reason; I played several years in a Boston based brass band but it was not ultimately to my liking. Outside of playing a handful of parades, this horn has gone virtually untouched for the past 6 years. Lacquer is 98% with a small patch of lacquer missing near the bell. Horn has no dents but a few dings here and there. I'm parting with the horn because 1) I really do not need it and 2) I intend to take the proceeds and overhaul an early 80's Strad trumpet that I picked up recently. I welcome any questions that you might have and I do hope that this wonderful instrument ends up being played regularly by someone who appreciates the unique sound of this kind of cornet.
I think that the price is excellent considering that Giardinelli is offering this cornet new at 1759.00!
