Description for Clarinet - Yamaha-CSG-H Wooden Professional Bb Clarinet:
Yamaha CSG-H wooden professional clarinet. In excellent condition. I'm, throwing in a deluxe Yamaha soft shell case (different case than the basic Protec case in the picture). Zippered exterior compartments .generous interior accessory storage space, and music sheet storage folder are some of the features of the case. No mouthpiece is included, but I can throw in a Clark Fobes NOVA or Vandoren M15 mouthpiece (both very slightly used just for play testing) for an additional $50.
The Yamaha CSG-H clarinet is a current model in the Yamaha line of clarinets. Note that this clarinet has four unique features: 1)It has a longer upper joint and shorter barrel to mimic the German clarinet. Wonderful sound from this design strategy. 2)The keys are Hamilton-plated; which is an alloy of nickel and gold. Looks neat-kind of like brassy or gold keys. 3)the pads are Lucien deluxe pads with plastic resonators (they look like sax pads with a small plastic dimple in the center for tone resonance) 4)No metal bell ring exists on the CSG-H clarinet. This was a design intent to leave out a metal bell ring. Looks cool without a ring.
The serial number of the clarinet is in the 02XXX series. CSG production started around 2002-2003, I think. Go to Yamaha's website for more information or google CSG-H Yamaha clarinet. Current price of the CSG-H, new, at Woodwind and Brasswind (a large internet music store) is $2804.
Other than that, I couldn't tell you how old the clarinet is. It looks like it is brand new; my guess is it couldn't be more than 5 years old. The keys look great and they move without a fault. It is one of the best regulated clarinets I own. Purchased as a backup and it has not seen much playing time. Pads are clean. Suction test reveals no leaks. No cracks in wood. No chips or dents. Corks are in great shape and tight tenon corks seal tight to the joints.
Payment via Paypal. Sale only to continental USA states (48 states) and shipping and handling is $20.

What is HAMILTON PLATING?
Hamilton plating is an alloy of gold and nickel. It's extremely resistant to wear and discoloration, and delivers a powerful tone with excellent projection. On the CSGH instruments, the Hamilton Plating is actually not only on the keys, but on the posts as well. In artist testing, it was shown to be a dramatic difference between instruments that had just Hamilton plated keys and Hamilton plated keys and posts
