I have owned this Selmer 'A' clarinet for 44 years and bought it new from Selmer in London - it was ordered by them from Paris - I had to wait for it to be made. Serial Number S 8890
The wood has a lovely grain andcolour, the aging of the wood gives it a wonderful tone, there are no cracks. Obviously if it hasn't cracked by now it won't in the future as the wood seasons and mellows over the years. The instrument would suit a soloist or professional orchestra player but would be wonderful for any enthusiast of the Clarinet.
It is in wonderful condition (almost as new for 44 year old) - all original and never given any trouble -that's real quality and well worth paying a lot extra for it when I got it. There is the extra key for articulated E/B Flat, plus the original Mouthpiece, reed clamp and cap - all the joints are stamped with the gold Selmer logo. The original Selmer double case (so that a BFlat can be carried as well) comes with it. I am shortly geting some photos to put on the site.
It's being sold because I hardly play it anymore and it's a shame for it not to be used more.
