This instrument is in very good condition. The neck and
scroll are undamaged after 50 years. The ebony fingerboard is perfect. This has a New bridge, a properly
fit sound-post. very high quality strings. The original
varnish is a deep orange with yellow highlights. The spruce belly has a wonderful grain pattern. The Belly has had a couple of cracks closed professionally but none are in critical areas. All and all a good mid-range, fine
sounding instrument for an advanced student or professional. This cello needs no repair work or adjustments; easy to play action.
The sound. clear bright top string, flute like d and g
and a solid C string.
