VINTAGE HAND CRAFTED GERMAN CELLO
TRUE 4/4 Size
Solid Spruce Top
Solid Flame Maple Back & Sides
Definitely Hand-Carved Including Neck and Scroll
Circa 1960s.
Sorry, NO CASE or BOW, but it does come with a metal floor stand.
This is a fine example of HAND CARVED German craftsmanship.
It plays and sounds wonderful with a full, rich tone.
It is fully functional and is in moderate condition for an instrument of this age.

I have a guitar repair shop and although I do minor work on instruments of this type I would recommend having this worked on by a qualified luthier specializing in violins/cellos upon receipt. It has some minor cracking as is common with instruments of this age and there is some very minor separation along the side seem at the bottom. The heel also shows professional repair work and the fingerboard seems a little low. This appears to have been done on purpose as a custom modification as opposed to being damaged.
I do not believe the fingerboard is ebony - rather some sort of pear wood, maybe boxwood or rosewood.
The nut and bridge could also use replacing at some point.

This is a 40+ year old instrument and as such it shows appropriate use and wear.
