Description: Cello Bow - Silver Mounted Cello Bow by Matt Wehling
"Following teachings of his French masters, Wehling's cello bows are a bit lighter and springier than bows often made by U.S. makers. He is able to do this by using pernambuco that is strong and dense, allowing him to leave enough wood for strength but take off enough for the bow to be elastic and responsive. He often receives comments about the consistency of playability and tracking along the entire bow." -From Matt Wehling's website.
I've owned this bow for about 3 years. I bought this bow thinking that I would major in music, but I have chosen a different path and no longer require it. It's been taken care very gently, so it's in excellent condition. The bow weighs 80.2 grams, yet it has the swiftness of a lighter bow. I've tried couple of 1800's French bows, but Wehling's bow plays just as well as any vintage French cello bow. I also have the certificate written by Matt Wehling. If you live near Chicago area, feel free to contact me to try the bow. I do have higher resolution pictures for the bow, so let me know if you want to see them.
Thanks!
