Purchased new in 2002. The instrument is in excellent condition and is a perfect bassoon for any serious student intending to play in a university or conservatory setting. I have recently auditioned on this instrument at the New England Conservatory, Peabody Institute, and San Francisco Conservatory, and have won offers to study at the graduate level at each of these schools. For its price range, this bassoon produces an amazing big, warm sound that is even in pitch and tone throughout its entire range. I am reluctantly selling this instrument because I have recently purchased a Fox 660 and cannot afford to keep an extra bassoon. Work has been done on the long joint and the instrument has been tuned up regularly since its purchase.
