MAGNIFICENT MOLLENHAUER Contrabassoon, "pre-war" made in 1938, to low Bb, just completely renovated by Keith Bowen. New quadruple silver plate. Absolutely as fine a Mollenhauer contra bassoon in every respect as could possibly exist. Phenomenal response throughout, even in the altissima register. HUGE, warm, resonant , vibrant tone, rock solid scale. Keith Bowen says: "this Mollenhauer is to Mollenhauer contras as the Heckel 8000 series is to Heckel bassoons."
