1925 Gibson RB4 5-String original Mastertone banjo. Serial #8059-11 Appraised by reputable appraiser in Mt. Juliet, Tenn.Mahogany woods, nickel hardware, tube and plate flange pot assembly with ball bearing archtop tonering with staggered holes in outer tonering skirt. Resonator is bound with typical white, black, white binding of the period. Bound rosewood fretboard with hearts and flowers inlay. Mastertone logo inlaid in pedhead. This is the first year of production for this banjo and only a few existing models were offered. This is a fine, rare instrument for the player or collector.
