This bandoneon was built and tuned by luthiers at the Pigini accordion factory in 2005, and was hand selected by bandoneon virtuoso Peter Soave, who I had the good fortune to meet several years ago when I was a beginning student. Soave was kind enough to make a special trip to the factory to play the four boxes they had built at the time and selected this one for its power, voice and response. I have played it professionally for the last three years and the tuning, mechanics, and compression of the bellows are all in perfect condition. The reed plates are zinc and the leathers and exterior are all in perfect condition. It has just returned from the Pigini factory where it was inspected and some routine maintenance was done. It is now in flawless condition and perfectly tuned. The voice and response is VERY strong and is suitable for a professional musician looking for a lifelong companion.

Fingerboard layouts are similar to Peguri layout with a few added tones for extra range. All tones are the same on the open and close with the exception of the notes in parentheses on the left side which are available on the close only. F's are marked with cross-hatches, C's with small indentations for better orientation.
