Description: Acoustic Guitar - Guild F612 Rare18" 12 string 1 of 12
What makes this Guild so special is that it is the same model of guitar that famous luthier, Carlos Greco had custom crafted for John Denver. This is the model of guitar associated with Denver's "12-string sound". The F-612 is a 12 string guitar with an 18 inch body. Ed also tells me that Guild stopped making this guitar and that it may be among the last ones made. Considered as "The King" of all 12 strings, this guitar has a sound that is voluptous, rich, and unforgettable-with a refined clarity and definition that is unmatched by any other 12 string. One will not find a contemporary 12 string with a like playablity and sound. A guitar of like caliber is the model F 512 which Guild still makes. However, retailing at 2,800$ it still lacks the vintage sound, size and expert craftsmanship that veteran Greco could craft.
Considering the collectable nature of this guitar, it should be more often played rather than displayed. The sound is one not to be confused with that of any lesser guitar. This guitar is of excellent craftsmanship made of Indian Rosewood with abolony inlays this is a beauty to be enjoyed.
