Acoustic Guitar Description: Acoustic Guitar for sale - Gerundino Fernández Flamenco blanca 1998
Gerundino Fernndez 1998 Flamenco guitar.
The late 'el maestro guitarrero Gerundino Fernndez Garcia' (1931-2006) was, perhaps, the finest luthier of all time of the latter half of the twentieth century, along with Arcangel Fernandez and Manuel Reyes In 1978 and 1988 he was rewarded with his mastery in the art of guitar construction, first Premio IV Concurso Internacional de Maestros Guitarreros, diploma y medalla de la UNESCO, Paris. His guitars are known for their raspy growl and volume, well balanced intonation and "gutsy" percussive sound. Gerundino's bracing system and construction maintain the essence of the true flamenco sound. Players of his instruments include Paco Pea, Paco de Lucia, Tomatito and Eric Clapton. Clapton's 1976 Gerundino sold for $16,730 at his 2004 Christie's auction, believed to be the highest price ever paid for a Gerundino.
If you want to know how this Gerundino looks, feels and sounds like, we invite you to watch, listen and enjoy the included high definition video on our site.
This 1998 blanca is in amazing shape with no cracks or repairs, save for string ding behind the high-E string which has been repaired nicely. The grain is nice and very tight. The space from the top to the strings at the bridge is 9mm. The Neck thickness is about 20mm. And the action at the 10th fret is 2.5mm. This blanca by Gerundino is a perfect mix of beauty and a true flamenco sound. She sings with a sweet, crispy voice and when pushed, she awakens with a slightly dark power that only the best flamenco guitars can reflect. This is a highly desirable Gerundino, a rare and absolute wonderful blanca and one of the most desired flamenco guitars.
Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions whatsoever.
