The electronic edition 4.0 on CD-ROM of Pioneers in Brass by the late Glenn D. Bridges brings back into print and sound, one of the most cited reference works of biography on brass personnel of the late 19th and early 20th century bandsmen. We have included additional materials written by Bridges, and materials that may not be in every 1972, 3rd edition (an edition that was continually in process.) The work includes a section on women brass players as well as low brass not in all earlier editions. We have also included Bridge's transcriptions published in 1970 of lectures on trumpet playing given by Herbert Clark in the early 1920s. There are nearly 40 mp3 full length recordings taken from the Bridges collection of brass soloists recordings.
