Vintage 1937 Pleyel "Landowska model" harpsichord. 2 keyboards FF-f3. 4 choirs of strings: 16', 8', 8', 4'. 7 pedals: 16', 4', lower 8', manual coupler, buff stop, nasale, upper 8'. Veneered in dark, French-polished mahogany with swirling grain. Main stops voiced in leather, nasale in a soft synthetic that sounds virtually like leather. Excellent condition. Kit of spare parts included. This instrument was used by Landowska for several years when she lived in New York (1942-47). It has an unusually mellow tone for a Pleyel, and is a superb example of the "Rolls Royce" of revival-era harpsichords. Serious enquiries only, please.
